Three Iraqis were killed and 30 others wounded in a fierce Baghdad gunbattle that erupted between security forces and rebels following a car bombing targeting a police patrol. “Two civilians and a policeman were killed, while 30 others were wounded in the gunbattle,” an interior ministry official said Wednesday. The fighting in the western district of Al-Gazalia involved as many as 40 insurgents armed with machine guns, rocket-propelled grenades and hand grenades.
