Initially installed as a defense against routine law enforcement violations, video surveillance has become a key weapon against terrorism, according to a new report. The study, issued Monday by market researchers Frost & Sullivan, maintains that improvements in video surveillance software will drive sales of such programs for years to come. “Against the backdrop of the recent London bombings and with the bombing suspects identified through closed circuit televisions, video surveillance has emerged as a key security technology in the fight against terrorism,” the report noted.
