Peninsula agency to focus on terrorism preparedness for the poor
The Office of Human Affairs has been battling poverty on the Peninsula for 40 years. Starting this fall, the agency will begin guarding against terrorism. The agency is one of 10 in the country to receive a $10,000 grant to establish a terrorism-preparedness program for the poor. “It’s a departure from what a community action agency normally does,” Robert Ayers, executive director of the office, said Friday .
