MORE than 6000 police officers, many of them with guns, were on duty in London today as the city was again on high alert for another terror attack. The massive security operation came as al Qaida’s deputy leader threatened more destruction in the city. Ayman al-Zawahri said in a videotape broadcast today that Prime Minister Tony Blair would be to blame for more attacks. It is exactly two weeks since the July 21 attempted attacks, which were themselves mounted two weeks after the July 7 bombings, which killed 56 people. Full Story
