The Police Department is expanding and refining several programs to give up-to-date information to a wide range of businesses to help them secure their buildings and deter terrorist attacks, officials said yesterday. Drawing elements of earlier strategies together into a single program, the effort will tailor information for dozens of different types of businesses, from parking garages and self-storage companies to banks, pharmaceutical companies, hotels, museums, theaters and schools. Police Commissioner Raymond W. Kelly said the department is starting the program today with a meeting of several hundred corporate security directors and other business and industry leaders.
