A top Marine commander said he had received no recent reports of cross-border shootings despite Syrian charges that two Syrian troops have been killed by US fire. Major General Stephen Johnson, commander of the marine forces in Iraq’s al-Anbar province, said “a couple” of cross-border shooting incidents were reported in March. “But they’ve been investigated and we were unable to determine where the rounds came from,” he said.
