As he comes under mounting international pressure to crack down on Islamist extremist groups, Pakistan’s President Pervez Musharraf will on Thursday make a televised address announcing the redoubling of domestic security efforts. Pakistan has made more than 150 arrests since it emerged that two of the men who detonated bombs in London this month Shehzad Tanweer and Mohammad Sidique Khan visited the country and may have had contact with militant groups Jaish e-Muhammad and Lashkar e-Toiba. British intelligence sources admit that Pakistan is now the main focus of the international investigation into the July 7 bombings.
