Hitachi gets first US nod for foreign-made bomb detection equipment
Japanese electronics giant Hitachi said it has become the first foreign company to win certification from US transport authorities for its bomb-detection equipment, opening up major new markets. Hitachi said its Explosives Trace Detection System was approved by the The US Transportation Security Administration (TSA), part of the Department of Homeland Security set up after the September 11, 2001 attacks.
