US, Afghans, Pakistanis, must boost security cooperation

The United States, Pakistan and Afghanistan need to improve their cooperation to crush suspected Taliban and Al-Qaeda fighters staging raids in Afghan territory, a senior US official said. The official implicitly confirmed that bin Laden was hiding somewhere in a mountainous region of the border, saying “have you been up in that region?” when asked why US-led forces had not captured bin Laden nearly four years after the September 11 attacks.
