New US ambassador to Iraq condemns slaying of children in car bomb
The new US ambassador to Iraq Zalmay Khalilzad condemned “foreign terrorists” who use Iraqis as “cannon fodder” after 24 children were slain in Baghdad as US soldiers handed out chocolates. “The foreign terrorists do not care about Iraq or Iraqis,” Khalilzad said in a briefing for foreign reporters. “They see the Iraq people, including Iraqi children as cannon fodder to be sacrificed in the pursuit of an extremist agenda of conflict between civilisations,” he said. “It is yet another indication of the kind of people that these terrorists are, they use children, as well as they target children.” Full Story
