Police closed several streets briefly Monday in central London where most government offices are located, including Parliament and 10 Downing St., after a suspicious package was found, an official said. Four days after terrorist bombs killed 49 people on three subway trains and a bus in central London, two red police vans blocked both ends of Whitehall, a wide street that runs from Trafalgar Square to Parliament and includes the Downing Street office and residence of Prime Minister Tony Blair, and the Foreign Office.
