Ten Afghan border police officers were killed in a clash with Taliban fighters in the country’s south, and all are believed to have been beheaded, government officials said Sunday. The killings took place Thursday afternoon, when border police forces came under attack in Helmand Province, roughly 400 miles south of Kabul, and were unable to flee because their vehicle became bogged down in sand, said Ali Ahmad Jalali, the Afghan interior minister.
