US Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld saidthat US officials had not met with associates of Al-Qaeda’s top operative in Iraq Abu Musab al-Zarqawi. The US defense chief faced new questions at a Pentagon press conference following his confirmation Sunday that US officials had met with Iraq rebels on at least two occasions this month.
