No risk of FARC taking over gov’t, army says

A Colombian general said the army’s U.S.-backed offensive against Marxist rebels in the country’s southern jungles has foreclosed any possibility FARC insurgents will take power in the Andean nation. “We have neutralized the FARC’s detailed plan to take over the government,” said Gen.
