Ansar al-Sunna, an extremist group linked to the Al-Qaeda network, said in an Internet statement it had killed a Japanese contractor in Iraq and six of his Iraqi guards. The statement, whose authenticity could not be verified, said al-Sunna fighters had ambushed a convoy as it was leaving the al-Walid military base near the restive city of Ramadi west of Baghdad. It said the militants had given members of the convoy “a choice to surrender or be killed, but they started to fire on the mujahedeen who responded, killing seven of them including the dirty Westerner.” Full Story
