Australia and Pakistan signed a counter-terrorism agreement which will allow for the sharing of sensitive intelligence and joint training by their security forces. The agreement is a key outcome of Pakistan President Pervez Musharraf’s visit to Australia, the first ever by a head of state from his country, which has centred on terror and trade. The memorandum of understanding, signed in front of Musharraf and Prime Minister John Howard at Parliament House, provides a framework for Australian and Pakistani security officials to work together.
