Several hundred unarmed supporters of a presidential hopeful who was denied registration in next month’s election stormed the Kyrgyz government headquarters on Friday, in the largest protest to grip the Central Asian country since the March uprising that ousted its former leader. Police and Interior Ministry troops regained control of the building about an hour after the crowd of about 2,000 had gathered, shouting slogans in support of the candidate, Urmat Baryktabasov.
