The White House welcomed the UN atomic watchdog agency’s decision to create a special committee to handle difficult verification problems, such as monitoring Iran’s nuclear program. “The creation of this special committee will aid efforts to counter the proliferation of nuclear weapons and will strengthen the IAEAs ability to monitor and enforce compliance with the Nuclear Nonproliferation Treaty and related agreements,” spokesman Scott McClellan said in a statement.Full Story
