An explosion tore through a bus Friday along a highway east of here, killing at least eight people, including six Nepalese soldiers, and wounding two others, the state-run radio reported. The radio quoted security sources as saying the attack was carried out by Maoist rebels, but no group has yet taken responsibility for the attack. The radio said a homemade bomb destroyed the bus near Narke, a village about 30 miles east of Katmandu. The bus contained soldiers who were returning to the capital after an operation against rebels.
