Insurgents in Afghanistan ambushed a patrol on Friday and one U.S. soldier and seven of the attackers were killed, the U.S. military said. The joint U.S.-Afghan army patrol was attacked in Paktika province in the southeast of the country. “Coalition forces reported the enemy fleeing shortly after the ambush began.
