Judge dismisses charge
Citing a lack of evidence, a judge Thursday dismissed a charge of use of illicit funds against Archibaldo Iván Guzmán, son of escaped drug lord Joaquín “El Chapo” Guzmán. The decision came just one week after the younger Guzmán was transferred to a maximumsecurity penitentiary amid reports of a plot to break him out of prison. It leaves just one charge pending against him, for allegedly concealing a crime. That charge is less serious, however, and he could be freed on bail. Full Story
