Suspected leftist rebels have blown up nine energy towers in the past four days, temporarily cutting electricity to thousands of residents in Colombia’s northern coastal region, a spokesman for state-controlled ISA electric company said Tuesday. The dynamite attacks began Friday night on the 165-foot (50-meter) tall structures, said ISA spokesman Gabriel Gallon. He said the attacks were the most over such a short period so far this year.
