The bombers in Hillah, about 60 miles south of Baghdad, detonated explosives in a crowd of Iraqi police who had gathered to protest a government decision to disband their unit.
The bombing was the latest attack in a wave of violence that has killed more than 600 Iraqis since the announcement of the new government April 28.
