Suicide bombs explode amid crowd of police

The bombers in Hillah, about 60 miles south of Baghdad, detonated explosives in a crowd of Iraqi police who had gathered to protest a government decision to disband their unit.

The bombing was the latest attack in a wave of violence that has killed more than 600 Iraqis since the announcement of the new government April 28. About 66 U.S. servicemembers have died in May, making it the deadliest month for Americans since January, when more than 100 servicemembers died. Full Story
