U.S. military says 12 rebels killed in Afghan clash

KABUL (Reuters) – Insurgents crossed into Afghanistan from Pakistan and attacked a U.S. patrol, and 12 rebels were believed killed when U.S.-led forces retaliated with the help of an aircraft, a U.S. military spokeswoman said on Sunday.

One U.S. soldier was wounded in the clash on Saturday night, said Lieutenant Cindy Moore.”Four insurgents crossed into Afghanistan from Pakistan and attacked a U.S. patrol with small-arms fire,” Moore said.
