White House: U.S., North Koreans met

U.S. and North Korean officials held their first direct talks in five months last Friday amid increasing signs that Pyongyang is taking steps to advance its nuclear program, the White House said Thursday. The United States used the session to urge North Korea to return to the long-stalled six-party talks on Pyongyang’s nuclear program, White House spokesman Trent Duffy told reporters traveling with President Bush.
