An Indonesian militant charged over the Australian embassy car bombing in Jakarta last year went on trial on Wednesday, accused of buying the vehicle and recruiting the driver for the suicide attack. Iwan Dharmawan Mutho, alias Rois, is the most important suspect in custody to face trial so far over the Sept. 9 bombing that killed 10 people and wounded nearly 200. “The defendant is charged with planning and or inciting others to commit a terror crime… in the bombing of the Australian embassy,” chief prosecutor Janung Aryanto Sebayong told the South Jakarta court, reading from the indictment.
