Italy acquits Tunisians of terror charges

A court in Milan Monday acquitted on terrorism charges five Tunisians who had been accused of helping to plan terrorist attacks outside Italy and of recruiting militants, court officials said. The officials didn’t immediately give details of the ruling, but Italian news agencies said the five were convicted of lesser crimes, including aiding illegal immigration, and received prison terms ranging from 2 1/2 years to 4 1/2 years.
