Twenty-four people accused of forming or aiding a cell of Al Qaeda in Spain, including three charged with helping to plan the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks in the United States, went on trial here on Friday. Most of the men are Syrians and North Africans. All but one are accused of financing terrorist activities, producing fake passports or other documentation, and recruiting Islamic radicals to be sent to Qaeda training camps in Afghanistan, according to court documents.
