Karen rebels attacked a convoy in southern Myanmar, killing eight people and wounding 15 after a fierce gun battle with police guards, state media reported on Friday. The column of two trucks and 12 buses, en route to Yangon from the southern town of Dawei, was ambushed on Thursday morning by fighters of the Karen National Union (KNU), the New Light of Myanmar newspaper said.
