Bombings recall Beirut’s years of terror

Lebanon’s Syrian-backed president, Emile Lahoud, pledged yesterday to do his utmost to end the current spate of bomb attacks, which are being seen as an attempt to revive the sectarian conflict which plunged the country into 15 years of civil war. The latest bomb, the third in a predominantly Christian neighbourhood in eight days, caused a huge blaze on Saturday night in the Sad al-Boushrieh industrial area of Beirut, injuring six people.Full Story
