A rubber plantation owner who was said to be a close aide of a suspected bomb maker involved in last month’s car bomb explosion in Sungai Kolok, was shot dead at his plantation in Narathiwat’s Sukhirin district yesterday. Police believe the killing was the work of Muslim militants wanting to silence him. Sangkhom Orian, 31, was shot four times in the chest and arms. He was attacked at his rubber plantation behind his house in Namtok village, Sukhirin district at 7.30am yesterday, police said.
