Will County plans to lease private security center

Private firm to build facility in New Lenox. Will County plans to join with a private partner to open a homeland security operations center later this year. The facility, to be called the Will County Solution Center, would be eligible for federal grant money from the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, county officials said Monday. Patron Systems Inc. plans to build and pay for the center, Will County Executive Larry Walsh said. On Thursday, the County Board is scheduled to vote on a resolution that authorizes Walsh to negotiate a lease with Patron Systems to place some county operations in the center. The county’s Emergency Management Agency and its emergency operations center, both located in the county building in downtown Joliet, would move to the facility, he said. Full Story
