Nepal will soon restore civil liberties suspended after King Gyanendra seized power and declared a state of emergency last month, the foreign minister said on Thursday. Ramesh Nath Pandey’s comments came a day after Kathmandu released eight political leaders who were detained last month after Gyanendra launched a crackdown against political activists to prevent protests against his power grab.
