Swiss police have detained five purported Islamic extremists suspected of running Web sites that showed the execution of hostages and provided details of how to make bombs and carry out attacks, authorities said Friday. The five suspects were taken into custody on Feb. 22 in anti-terror raids in the capital, Bern, and nearby Fribourg, according to the Federal Prosecutor’s Office.
