While it is not quite as bad as two tin cans connected by a string, there are serious flaws in Elko County’s emergency communications system. At least according to the findings of a federally funded study done by the Salt Lake City office of McIntosh Communications and presented to the Elko County Board of Commissioners on Wednesday. The report left county board members in a quandary as how to solve what promises to be a very expensive problem. Commissioner Mike Nannini indicated it was his understanding that redoing the system would cost in the neighborhood of $2 million to $3 million. Full Story
