ONE of the arrested suspects in the Superferry bombing last year had told police interrogators that a terrorist group planned to launch attacks on major urban centers in the country, a police intelligence officer told The Manila Times Wednesday. Philippine National Police authorities apparently either failed to act on the information provided by Ibrahim Mutuc Kessel or felt it was not worth following up. The issue of failure of intelligence has resurfaced after the Valentine’s Day bombings in the cities of Makati, General Santos and Davao that killed at least 11 people. Full Story
