At least 105 persons have been killed and scores wounded as massive air and ground attacks entered the 7th day yesterday, with government ground forces pounding the lairs and escape routes of two Moro rebel forces now on the run in Sulu. The fatalities on the government forces now rose to 33 with 73 wounded soldiers who were airlifted by the Philippine Air Force’s (PAF) 205th Helicopter Wing to the AFP Southern Command (Southcom) Hospital in Zamboanga City and V-Luna Hospital in Quezon City. Government troops continued heavy bombardment and rocket attacks by four OV-10 aircraft, four MG520 attack helicopters of the PAF’s 15th Strike Wing and relentless firing by a battery of 105 cannon howitzers at the two areas in Panamao, Jolo, Sulu where the insurgents started to break into small groups.
