An M-76 rifle grenade was discovered by a roving policeman some 70 meters away from the Japanese Embassy in Pasay City on Saturday night. Inspector Lerpon Platon, Pasay City—Special Weapons and Tactics and Explosives and Ordnance Division (SWAT/EOD) chief, said that PO1 Angel dela Cruz, of the Station Investigation and Intelligence Division (SIID), was doing routine inspection near the vicinity of the Japanese Embassy, located along Roxas Boulevard in Pasay City, when his police vehicle had mechanical trouble, forcing him to slow down at around 8 p.m. It was at this juncture that he spotted two men who appeared to be arguing outside the parking lot in front of the Antel Condominium Building beside the Japanese Embassy.
