Police backed forest rangers seized 15,000 board feet of “hot lumber” in Palimbang, Sultan Kudarat. Police said the seized wood products indicated that Abu Sayyaf, a terrorist group, is engaged in illegal logging to fund its activities. This was disclosed here by Chief Supt. Antonio Billones, Central Mindanao police chief. Billones said earlier that police units, particularly the Regional Mobile Group and Palimbang Police Office, have joined the army in hunting a beleaguered Abu Sayyaf band headed by Isnilon Hapilon and Omar Janjalani.
