On Monday, January 31, authorities at Istanbul’s Ataturk Airport discovered an electrical device concealed inside a Chinese passenger’s sneakers during a routine security check. The discovery of the device triggered a security alert at the airport when a transit passenger en route from Beijing, China to Tripoli, Libya was routinely searched in Istanbul.
