Two election workers have been killed and a journalist seriously injured in Thailand’s restive south just days ahead of national polls. Opposition election canvasser Mayeng Do, 42, a member of the Yala provincial administration, was shot dead by two attackers riding a motorcycle as he returned from campaigning against Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra for the new Mahachon Party, police said. The police said the shooting would raise to 12 the number of killings linked to the elections, if the death was confirmed as politically motivated. Full Story
