Troops in Central Mindanao have been placed in “active defense posture” for possible retaliation by terrorists following Thursday’s massive air raid and artillery bombardment of a terrorist base in Maguindanao. ‘So far, after the Thursday air raid and bombing attack, no major skirmishes have occurred,” said Armed Forces spokesman Brig. Gen. Alexander Yano. “But we placed our troops out there on an active defense posture, while observing the implementation of a ceasefire,” he said. Yano, also chairman of the government’s coordinating committee on the cessation of hostilities, said the joint government-Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF) panel has inspected the war zone, along with members of the International Monitoring Team.
