More than 200 people were concentrating on yersinia pestis Thursday at the Executive Inn Rivermont. This plague-causing bacteria is now better understood by members of area law enforcement, public health and emergency responder agencies after the state Department of Homeland Security’s bioterrorism exercise Thursday. The exercise, one of several held throughout the state, brought together members of more than 90 agencies in the seven-county Green River district to learn their strengths and weaknesses in responding to a bioterrorism attack, said Jason Keller, spokesman for the state Department of Homeland Security.
