A Moscow State University student was detained Tuesday night in connection with a bomb blast outside a Bank of Moscow branch. His name has not been disclosed, Interfax news agency reported. The student reportedly belongs to a radical left wing group. He refused to give evidence but was identified by witnesses, the agency reported. The homemade explosive devise blew up on the territory of the Bank of Moscow’s main branch on Tuesday. The device was sent to the bank in a package. A message inside said a blast would take place in 40 minutes. The bank’s security officials carried the package out of the building and called the police. Shortly afterwards the package exploded.
