Malaysia urges Muslims to curb extremism

Malaysia’s prime minister urged Muslim countries on Thursday to curb extremist ideologies and seek better relations with the West. Abdullah Ahmad Badawi, who chairs the 57-nation Organization of the Islamic Conference, said Muslims should work to correct the world’s “ignorant and extremely damaging perception” that their countries support terrorism and militancy.
