Brazil has offered to help Colombia and Venezuela resolve a dispute about the abduction and arrest of a rebel commander which has led them to curtail diplomatic relations. President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva made the offer at a meeting with the Colombian leader, Alvaro Uribe, days after Venezuela withdrew its ambassador and cut some economic links.
