A new inter-agency communications system that allows city, county, state and federal first responders to communicate easily during an emergency was demonstrated in Jersey City yesterday. The system was first used during the “orange alert” issued last year in response to terrorist threats to the Prudential Building in Newark and officials are touting it as being able to eliminate the communications problems that plagued emergency responders during the Sept. 11, 2001 attacks.
