Six Pakistani militants were killed on Wednesday in gun battles with the army in Rajouri and Poonch districts of Jammu and Kashmir, defence sources said. According to the sources, the army launched a search operation at around 0330 IST after receiving information about the presence of Hizbul-Mujahideen Pir Panchal Regiment militants in Budhal forest area of Rajouri. During the operation, a gun battle opened out, in which four militants were killed. One of the militants, identified as Abu Salma alias Baddar, was a sector commander of the outfit, the sources said.
