An American Christian pastor was stabbed in the Algerian capital on Wednesday and security services were investigating whether the attack was linked to Islamist rebels, security and diplomatic sources said. Hugh Johnson of the Protestant Church of Algeria was stabbed by an unidentified man in downtown Algiers and later underwent surgery. His condition was not life-threatening, diplomats said. “An investigation is under way to determine any link with terrorism,” said the security source, who asked to remain anonymous. Full Story
