U.S. forces said on Wednesday they had detained six suspects in the assassination of the Baghdad governor a week ago.
The suspects in the killing of Ali al-Haidri were arrested in a morning raid on a house in western Baghdad on Tuesday, the U.S. military said in a statement. Insurgents bent on undermining Iraq’s U.S.-backed government frequently kill officials and politicians, but the assailants are rarely reported captured. Full Story
